Pero el artista no se puede detener aquí, porque el resultado sería una obra anquilosada en un academicismo, vacía, un simple objeto decorativo propio de las “artes menores”. Es necesario ir más allá, debe decir que la escultura es puro sentimiento, porque antes que el artista está el ser humano, que siente, ama, sufre, y es sensible a la belleza de su entorno.”

J. M. Sánchez Carrasco

José María Sánchez Carrasco was born in Barcelona in 1946. In 1960 he enrolled at the School of Arts and Crafts in Barcelona. In 1962 he attended the Art Circle Sant Lluch. From 1964 to 1966 worked with the sculptors and carvers E. Saa and J. Arquimbau while he entered the Llotja to practice natural sculpture and whose teachers Bohigas.

In 1970 he moved to Paris where he settled for expanding knowledge. From 1971 to 1973 working in a studio located in the port of Barcelona, exotic wood carvings running your own design. In 1977 he traveled to Kenya where he has opportunity to work in ivory.

In 1982 his first exhibition in the Sala Els Transformadors of Barcelona.

Since then has continued to make presentations and receive awards for their work.
